Whats the best entry level 3d printer

It depends on what you mean. Y entry level and what you are looking to do. For most an Bambu A1 or A2L would be a good option as would an Anycubic KobraX. If you need something with an enclosed chamber a Bambu P2S. Centuri Carbon 2 is a good choice as well. Look around, don't jump into things, then decide. I have an A1 and am getting a P2S in a few days. My friend has an H2S that he loves. If you want to see something cool but expensive look up Prusa XL with the multi tool heads.

I got a Prusa XL Dual Toolhead used, where do I start?

I'm a fairly advanced 3D printing enthusiast and have been printing for about 2–3 years now. I recently picked up a used Prusa XL for $800. It was originally listed at $1,200, but after some negotiating and pointing out a few things, I got the seller down to $800. The printer has 133 days of print time on it, which comes out to roughly 3,192 hours. My main question is: where do I start? Is 3,200 hours on a Prusa XL considered high enough that I should proactively replace any wear items? If so, what parts should I be looking at first? I also have a few questions about the NexTruder: Are there any must-have upgrades (printed or otherwise) that you recommend for the XL? I'm definitely planning to add an enclosure, but I'm torn between the EnXLosure and the SUMO enclosure. For those who have experience with both or one, which would you choose and why? or why do you like your current choice? I'd also love any advice on fine-tuning and dialing in the machine. It currently prints, although I was having an issue with one toolhead. Prusa Support had me swap toolheads, and that seems to have resolved the problem for now but they say a replacement part will be needed. One last thing: I plan to replace all of the orange accents with red because I think it'll look a lot better. Any tips, maintenance recommendations, or XL-specific advice would be appreciated!

Purchase Advice Megathread - July 2025

Any opinions on the upcoming Snapmaker U1? On the one hand, a 4 idex printer with orcaslicer sounds fantastic, and at $679 is like a quarter of the price of the only other mainstream one (Prusa XL, which is a very distant wet dream given its cost). I can live with a 270mm cubed bed myself, larger than the current prusas MK3S I have.  On the other hand, have heard/seen some pretty bad reviews when it comes to snapmaker stuff, even though they’ve been around for a while it seems like they’re still not that “great”, and I really don’t want to play guinea pig for the product.  Color printing is a need for me, tired of the MMU3 myself, and want something faster than the MK3S+.
