Help deciding on resin printer as of 2026

I have 4 printed all elegoo and I am looking to move away from them. My Mars 5 ultra had for a year is still going strong, I do actually love this printer, but had issues with the Saturn's. My Saturn 4 has never printed great is super hit and miss. The two saturn 16k print much much better but one I had to replace the heat transfer unit and one the screen. Both were covered in warrenty ad machines were only 4 months old but god it was a pain and I never want to do it again.

best resin 3d printer for tabletop miniatures with sharp detail and consistency?

I favored ease of use, repeated success and things that 'just worked', so we went with a Saturn Ultra 12k 2 years ago. It has been absolutely wonderful, and what problems it has had have been my learning behaviors. I was able to print very complicated minis right away with stellar detail. The calibration is great. If you have more money I'd recommend HeyGears, but the Saturn 4 is as close to idiot proof as you can get. I'd also recommend shopping for resin, as the kind of resin that you use makes as much a difference as the printer does. I personally love Sirayatech FNG. It's been shown to have very little problem with bloom or deformation, is quite strong and relatively cheap. We've been using it both for horrifying minis and for making dice masters, and in both cases it's been stellar.

Elegoo Saturn 4 or Anycubic M7? (Ultra, 14K, 16K, Pro and all)

This printer is compared to the Anycubic M7 range, praised for its ergonomics and stable file format, but its 16K screen is deemed largely unnecessary and offers no real benefit over 12K.

Printer recommendations on 2026?

It can be. When it works it's fine. When it doesn't, troubleshooting it is completely different than traditional printers. You can search for all of the people who have had adhesion issues in the past on this sub and the Saturn sub. It also does weird things at lower layer heights, like adding layers. It's also tuned for a specific range of resin viscosity, so if you have higher viscosity resin it can be an issue. It's also not great for high detail/low cure depth resins, to the point that resin makers like Resione actively warn against using Saturn 4s and Mono M7s for their high detail TH-HR resin. There's also evidence that it can lead to premature LCD death, there's been quite a few reports on the Saturn sub of people killing LCDs in less than 200 hours of printing. If you are a consistent user of UVTools for setting wait times, or if you only print miniatures/models/figures with resins that are within the tuned viscosity range and reasonable layer heights, then you'll mostly be fine. Just not common for new people to get recommended to do that.
