Best consumer printer for raw quality

Also going to say Heygears, potentially the Athena 2 when it comes out, looks quite promising. I've got a creality Halot and Elegoo Saturn 3 ultra currently, and have had a bunch of other printers in the past. I've found they all have issues, most of which can be solved by tweaking settings and using higher quality resins. But they've all suffered from issues with print consistency due to the ridgitity of the Z axis and the nature of resin printing. Personally I've concluded that the most important feature in a modern resin printer is force feedback on the build platform so the printer can actively compensate for the resulting forces from printing.

best resin 3d printer for tabletop miniatures with sharp detail and consistency?

<image> I’ve been migrating over to the Heygears Reflex RS and replacing my Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultras and then my Saturn 3 ultras. The Heygears is a bit more upfront cost but the results are rock solid consistent and they’ve committed to having spare parts for the next 3 years which is important for me. I just ordered a pair of Reflex RS Turbo. They very recently opened the slicer software to allow you to use other materials but I’ve been quite pleased with the durability and the detail of their PAF10 resin, picture as reference. I’ve recently had 3 each of the Saturn 3 and 4 ultra, but the Heygears are more “prosumer level” and I like to standardize on machines, spare parts, resin and slicer.

If I were to buy a new printer, which would be the best choice?

Saturn 4 Ultra has been getting a ton of praise. I'm not sure how I feel about the tilting vat mechanic as I haven't used it but others say it's great. Go for the standard 12K instead of the 16k. If you're considering the Saturn 3 Ultra I would just go for the standard Saturn 3. Decent amount cheaper and it works great. Still a 12k screen so the quality is the same as the 4 Ultra. Personally, I'm done with Anycubic. I've had 2 of their printers, not impressed. Never again. But that's just my experience, obviously others have had good experience. One thing to consider is replacement parts, specifically LCD and FEP sheets. Elegoo sells their screen and a 5 pack of PFA for a very reasonable price, so I'd pick one of those two machines.
