Buyers Advise: Which advaned 3d printer? (INDX vs mmu vs voron vs prusa)

You got it backwards. INDX is inferior to Snapmaker implementation if you are fine with 4 tools. Also U1 is in full production for over half a year now and mine has almost 250k tool changes without a single issue. Comparing it to the system that's still in prototype stage (injection molded parts of the production unit will be available end of May/beginning of June) is a little off. I'm implementing INDX on one of the Voron derivatives and it's a mess. The only way to get it to work is to install the tool rack at the printhead level and if you have flying gantry with a motor facing downwards - you need to get your bed raised. Tool change takes 12s compared to U1 6s. Of course INDX flexibility with what is considered a tool is superior to U1, but if we are talking about FDM printing aspect it's hotend is nothing special in terms of temperature range (up to 300) and flow rate (sustained up to 40mm³/s - that's why I had to step away from implementing it on Orangestorm Giga - that's 30% slower than stock and 70% slower than what's considered decent for this size category). U1 can change filament in the toolhead while the tool is docked (so you can connect MMU to the toolheads). So if you are going for 8-10 toolheads go for INDX. 4 toolheads? For the price of a dev kit, you can have U1. Max 4 is a totally different beast - it's for printing PPS and other high temp stuff, with occasional PLA print, I would never consider it for anything else.

Help me convince my wife a 3D printer will fit our needs

Technically… yes it can be done. But for ones like you show in the last picture you’re going to need a huge printer (like the Orangestorm Giga). If I was you I would get a “normal” sized printer first, learn the ropes and make some prototypes before getting a printer like the Giga as things typically get more complicated with bigger printers

Job to Print Very Large Animatronic Props - Which Printer

I need to print 2 very large animatronic props. The internals are aluminum but the outer covering will be PETG. They are approximately 8ft long 6ft tall and 5ft wide. I will need new printers for this to get it done in reasonable time. Debating between a massive printer (Orangestorm Giga) and multiple commonly large printers (maybe bambu h2s or similar). I have a bambu labs now and love it but I'd have to do many small prints and stitch them together just to equal one long print from the giga. I know the giga has a poorer track record but it seems like the simplest option. Thoughts?
