Ender 3 Pro or Elegoo Neptune 2?

Both are expensive when you can get them for cheaper online. I personally have a Neptune 2 and it's ok. The print quality when stock was pretty good. Having to fiddle with SD cards grew old though. If you plan on keeping the printer stock long term, get the Elegoo. If not, get the Ender. It's not like you can't mod the Neptune, mine is heavily modified. The issue is that to apply mods like a dual Z upgrade, you'll have to open up slots on the flush faces so you can attach the kit. Also, the steppers on the Neptune use double the current. I run my steppers on my Duet 3 Mini clone at 1800mA rather than the 800 mA that a typical Creality stepper runs at. That much higher current required some cooling for the drivers. I strongly suggest the Ender and some mods for an extremely reliable printer if you put in the effort.

Do not buy anycubic.

Idk about their resin printers but the neptune 2s my partner got seems to be fine. In general though I prefer resin. Better detail and it's just easier for me. It also prints faster with a full build plate than the neptune. It is a mess though and the cleanup is more of a pain.

multicolor 3d printer for around 300-500'ish

I've had the Hi combo for a month now, printing almost continuously and had zero failures. I was hesitant but don't like the direction Bambu is heading so steered clear of the A1. I also considered the Kobra 3 but I saw the V1 had some issues and the V2 isn't shipping until late June. The Ace Pro having a filament dryer is very appealing though. Setup was super easy and fast compared to my old Biqu and Elegoo Neptune 2. One thing I will say is the camera is OK for checking a print but you aren't going to make a fancy time lapse with it.
