Struggling with Sparkx i7

Back in March, I decided to pull the trigger and get the Sparkx i7 as my first step into 3D printing. It was what I could afford. At first I loved it. It was great, making some really good prints, and this one that I really love. But I’m now over 500 hours in and it seems like every day it’s something else causing issues. Lately the print will get started, then part way through I’ll get the error message that it appears to be printing without extruding. I’ve cleaned it up, opened up the extruder box, and tried most of what I’ve read out there, but I just cannot figure out what’s going on. I’m printing without extruding PLA and currently, just trying to print a small box for desiccant. Does anyone have any ideas or have you experiences something similar with your Sparkx? I’m getting super frustrated, I can’t go two good prints in a row anymore and always wake up to a mess in the morning.

Creality Sparkx i7: What We Expected? A Real-World Comparison vs. Hi Combo and Bambu Lab A1

The Creality Spark i7 demonstrates excellent print quality, particularly in tolerance, ghosting, and TPU printing, while also significantly reducing material waste in multicolor operations. It features a user-friendly design and tool-free maintenance, though its multi-color system is currently limited to one module.

Struggling with Sparkx i7

Been fighting issues with my Creality SparkX i7 since I bought it (June 4). Documented defects at this point (photos/videos of everything): 1. Extreme bed mesh deviation (0.519 mm) — present from day one 2. Defective leveling sensor 3. Defective bed assembly 4. X-axis endstop malfunction 5. Recurring “build plate missing” error (AC0123) 6. Manufacturing winding defect in an original Creality filament roll 7. Clogged/carbonized nozzle throat within one month 8. Recurring WiFi failure, requiring a full reset + recalibration every time 9. AI spaghetti-detection failing (multiple times, including when there actually was spaghetti) 10. Exclude Object feature doesn’t work 11. Louder in sleep mode than in active printing mode 12. Z-axis homing abnormality (error code CZ2581) 13. Z-offset won’t adjust correctly — value keeps drifting further negative no matter which button (+/-) I press 14. Nozzle scraped across the model during a test print via Creality Cloud (Z-hop was on as always) 15. Newest: error \[2121\] “Unknown issue detected. Check print.” — another failed print with no clear cause I only use genuine Creality Hyper PLA with the original profiles, keep firmware updated, and have done multiple full resets/calibrations to rule out user error. Twice now I’ve waited \~10 days for replacement parts and installed them myself — no lasting improvement either time.

I Tested the 3 Cheapest MultiColor 3D Printers (Bambu Lab A1 vs Creality Hi Combo vs Sparkx i7)

The Sparkx i7, a new multi-color 3D printer from Creality's sub-brand, shows promise in monochrome printing with defined details but suffers from unacceptable and consistent layer loss issues in multicolor prints, making it currently unrecommendable.

SparkX i7 Spaghetti Detection

Honestly, I think plate cleanliness is a huge factor on these printers. I’m still running mostly stock profiles on my SparkX i7 and haven’t had a single failed print yet after 200+ hours of printing, but I clean my build plate with IPA regularly and avoid touching the surface with my fingers. On fast printers even a tiny bit of grease can cause the print to lose adhesion later during the print.
