Does it still make sense to buy a CR-30 in 2025?

I bought mine new a year and a half ago. It's served me well, although the belt surface gets rubbed away about as easily as a teflon frying pan. I specifically wanted to print I-beams and other long parts with it. I hardly ever use it though. Also in order to get prints to reliably stick to the belt I have to set the max speed to 20 mm/s, so it's as slow as molasses. But when I need a 5 foot part it's there ready to go.

Does it still make sense to buy a CR-30 in 2025?

Yeah, parts are now in the "best of luck" or make it yourself category. The CR 30 is very purpose built. Like the other guy said, if you dont want to split long prints like swords and shit, or use it as a mass production device...don't create the stress for yourself. I've had mine for a while now. The learning curve to calibrate and maintain this thing alone in a hair puller. Buy an a1/x1 and split your prints.

Does it still make sense to buy a CR-30 in 2025?

The CR30, in my eyes, is kind of a niche printer... It's great for specific types of prints, and I bought a used one for $400 for a printing project that made me $12,000, but if I didn't have that contract I wouldn't have bought the CR30... Although I don't use it much anymore, it's an awesome printer just to fool around with, but unless you're printing something specific, like a sword or something like that, it won't be of much use as it lacks some abilities or "pros" that regular printers have... Off the top of my head, one is bed adhesion and quality of the areas that touch the bed itself, sometimes it comes out messy, especially for horizontal thin parts...
